Cultivating Courage Through Stillness

“True courage grows in stillness — in the moments we choose presence over perfection, and trust over doubt.”

— MindfulSoul

Take a moment now. Close your eyes, place a hand on your heart, and notice the gentle strength that already resides within you.

Today we welcome the beautiful Aries Super Full Moon, and during the Full Moon I love to take the opportunity to reflect and to turn deeper within myself — I often naturally feel drawn to close out external distractions, to switch off the outside world and just be in my own little bubble of awareness.

The Full Moon, each month is a perfect time to pause, notice and listen within. It teaches us to shed what no longer serves us and to create space in our own lives.

This month, the Aries Super Full Moon is teaching us to be courageous and today I want to encourage you to find courage in stillness by softening and slowing down through life and through your practise of yoga — so you may shed physical layers of tension from your body and mind.

You may be feeling a heaviness in your life right now — a feeling that you are holding so much both physically & mentally.

This is a sign from your body, that you are holding too much. It is an invitation to release under the energy of the Super Full Moon and it is an invitation that I have been embracing over the past few days — shedding my layers, releasing my heaviness so that new energy and opportunities may move into my life.

Why Stillness Helps Courage to
Come Forward

The world stays busy and we try to keep up with it all, so much, that we neglect our own needs. Sometimes we don't even notice what we feel in our own bodies, or hear our body when it cries for support.

When our minds are busy or overwhelmed, it’s hard to hear our inner voice of guidance. Stillness provides the space to notice:

  • The subtle nudges of intuition

  • Feelings that need acknowledgment before action

  • The inner strength that is always present

Even a few minutes of mindful pause can reconnect you to your resilience, grounding you in clarity and calm.

Try this small reflective practiCe:

  • Close your eyes for a moment and just breathe — take 5 slow, conscious breaths.

  • Next we notice: Where in my body am I holding myself? Where do I feel tense and for how long have I felt this way?

  • Now breathe again and relax your muscles. Soften, release and repeat out loud:

"I am safe in my body.
I am present in my body.

I am choosing to find my courage through stillness."

so What does it mean to find our courage through Stillness?

It means pausing for long enough to hear your inner voice and then choosing to act from the awareness of your whole self.

Our courage isn't always loud and bold, sometimes it's soft and present — tuning into our own rhythms, learning to trust in our own voice instead of believing the doubtful thoughts in our mind. It's recognising that just because a thought is there — doesn't mean that thought is true.

Courage is not the absence of fear. It’s stepping forward despite fear. In moments of stillness, we can notice what’s holding us back and gently release it.

Within the practise of finding courage through stillness we embody our inner strength and build our emotional resilience. This pushes us forward in life, it allows us to keep walking forward on the path that feels aligned with who we are.

Practicing Courage in Your Daily Life

Try these small moments of courage in your everyday living:

  • Speak your truth gently
  • Try something new
  • Pause before reacting, notice what feels aligned
  • Remember, courage grows incrementally. Each mindful step is a seed of strength.

Reflection Prompt:
What small courageous action can I take today, rooted in stillness and self-trust?

When we get quiet and allow ourselves to be, we can find the person we were always meant to be — when we slow down to reconnect we can live in alignment with our own needs.

This month, let’s choose presence over perfection. Let’s notice the whispers of courage, honour our inner voice, and allow new beginnings to unfold naturally.

With warmth,
 Lori
